Perfect Tense Song
by Debra Baker-Schneider
Sing to the tune of the “Addams Family” theme song.
For action that’s completed
And not the kind repeated
The way it should be treated
Is with the perfect tense
"I" "isti" "it" (snap, snap)
That’s how you start (snap, snap)
"imus" for "we"
"istis" "erunt"
On the third part (snap, snap)
To make it passive voice
It’s simple, so rejoice
The fourth part is your choice
For perfect passive tense!
Just write it down (snap, snap)
Then leave a space (snap, snap)
"sum," "es," "est," "sumus,"
"Estis" or "sunt"
In the next place (snap, snap)
